A Vision for the FutureMaking History On the Road: Hong Kong
January 29, 2008On January 12, President Amy Gutmann and Board of Trustees Chair Jim Riepe, W'65, WG'67, took Making History on the road to Hong Kong for the first overseas stop on the campaign rollout tour. Hong Kong-area Trustees William Cheung, D'81, GD'82, and Raymond K. F. Ch'ien, GR'78, served as hosts for the event, which attracted over 150 Penn alumni, friends, and students.
President Gutmann reported on the goals and progress of the campaign and recognized the unique role Penn international alumni can play in Making History. "We've got momentum. We've got a blueprint for transforming Penn’s campus into the best in the world," she told the crowd. "Most important of all, we've got you on our side. Your involvement and generous support have already given the campaign a huge boost, for which I am grateful."
The warmth and enthusiasm of Penn people in Asia gave the campaign even greater momentum heading into the next three launch events in February!
