Alumni Leaders Start Preparing for 2009 Reunions
April 25, 2008
Even though Alumni Weekend 2008 is still a few weeks away, we're already planning for next year's reunion. On April 4 and 5, The Penn Fund and Alumni Relations welcomed over 125 volunteers
from next year's reunion classes back to campus for the 2009 Penn Reunion
Leadership Conference (PRLC). The conference, designed to encapsulate all
aspects of reunion volunteer involvement from soliciting classmates to creating
excitement about returning to Penn for Alumni Weekend, is in its seventh year.
Representing 70 years of Penn history, members of classes from 1939 to 2009
heard an update from President Gutmann (pictured); learned about Penn’s eastward expansion
plan, Penn Connects; heard more about
the Making History campaign; and
began planning for both the fundraising and outreach sides of their upcoming
reunions. The Class of 2009 also
participated in planning their Senior
Class Gift Drive.
The Penn Fund and Alumni Relations, as well as these
volunteers, will play a crucial role in the execution of the Non-Financial and
Engagement Goals of Making History. Regional alumni activities and groups, career networking, and
increased participation in annual giving and planned giving are a large part of
this groundbreaking component of the campaign.
