The Jordan
Scholarship ChallengeCampaign chair Henry Jordan, M’62, RES’67, and his wife
Barbara have made a generous and innovative challenge gift to help the campaign
met or surpass its goal of $100 million
for scholarships. The gift will establish the John Morgan Scholars program,
named for the founder and first professor of medicine at Penn’s medical school.
Building on their long commitment of supporting scholarships at Penn Medicine, the
Jordans, will match other donations to the new program, magnifying their
impact. The Jordans
also will match gifts to establish named scholarships. By pooling contributions, the John Morgan Scholars program
will increase the aid available for students with the greatest need. Endowed in
perpetuity, the program will ensure that the School of Medicine
can continue to attract the best and brightest students, in the tradition its
founder, regardless of their backgrounds. This support also will expand their
options for careers and service to the world after graduation.
