Make History. Endow a Scholarship.

The need for scholarships is real.

Here are some real numbers:

• Today, almost 40% of Penn's undergraduates receive direct financial support from the University.

• For the 2008-09 academic year, the average direct grant received by a student on financial aid was over $27,222.

• Today, the undergraduate scholarship endowment covers only 19% of the University's financial aid budget, requiring the University to use a significant portion of its operating budget to bridge the gap.

• Penn needs to raise $350 million for undergraduate scholarship endowment. This is 10% of Penn's Campaign -- a huge investment for Penn. The University's annual grant aid to students will increase more than 20%, to over $110 million per year.

Undergraduate Aid
Undergraduate Scholarships:
10% of Penn's Campaign
Penn is eliminating student loans from all financial aid packages; many aided students from families with lower incomes will no longer pay tuition. This is an unprecedented commitment for Penn.
