The Priorities

Priority: Unrestricted Giving
Goal: $371 million (11%)

Innovation, collaboration, engagement. Inquiry, teaching, learning. Promise, opportunity, future. “Priceless,” we would all agree, but expensive nonetheless.

Think of unrestricted gifts as the money in Penn’s wallet. They are the resources that allow Penn leaders to be nimble and responsive in this world of great possibilities. When funds are undesignated, they become the vital links in the bridge that carries Penn from vision to reality.

There are no limits on how Penn leaders might put unrestricted funds to work in Making History. Among the possibilities are:

  • Opening the doors of Penn to talented undergraduate, graduate, and professional students by supporting financial aid.
  • Encouraging innovation and engagement by funding faculty and student initiatives that advance Penn’s vision to put knowledge in service to the world.
  • Enhancing the academic experience by enabling technology upgrades, facility renovations, and other campus improvements.
  • Creating new programs and responding to unanticipated funding needs and opportunities.

These are but a few of the examples of the power of unrestricted support on Penn. To learn more about unrestricted giving, visit The Penn Fund page, the Penn Parents page, or those of our schools and centers.
