Penn Nursing: Care to Change the World -- Next Door

CONNECTING THE BEST OF ACADEMIC NURSING WITH POPULATIONS IN NEED

It’s a commitment that infuses Penn Nursing, galvanizing its dean, faculty, and students, and challenging them to re-imagine healthcare for underserved communities. The result has been innovative programs — from West Philadelphia; to Pearlington, Mississippi; to Gaborone, Botswana — and countless lives improved.

With success has come recognition, and now, a new challenge for Penn Nursing: The Kresge Challenge. [see announcement, "Where Science Leads"]

Awarded by The Kresge Foundation to a select group of nonprofits that are making a strategic difference in disadvantaged communities, The Kresge Challenge asks all who love Penn Nursing to help meet its $75 million campaign goal by December 31, 2009.

For Penn Nursing and the communities it is bolstering, the reward is significant: $1.5 million in additional funds from Kresge — vital fuel for a School that cares to change the world.
